The Bussell Highway Duplication project continues to make great progress, with Stage One and the first section of Stage Two complete.
Stage 1 of the Bussell Highway duplication was completed in December 2021 and included the construction of a 5 kilometre section of road between Capel Bypass and Hutton Road, as well as reconstruction of a part of the existing carriageway, resulting in two lanes in each direction.
Stage 2 involves construction of a further 12 kilometre section between Hutton Road and Busselton, which will include the construction of three bridges over the Abba, Sabina and Ludlow rivers, to provide dedicated north and southbound carriageways at each location. Remaining works for Stage Two of this project are well underway, with bridge works nearing completion.
The first section of Stage 2 - including 3.3km between Hutton Road and Ludlow River - opened in September 2022. The remaining section of Stage Two, between Ludlow River and Sabina, is scheduled for completion in late-2024.
