A purpose-built multistorey building is being constructed at Royal Perth Hospital.

Two dedicated floors of the project will house the new Emergency Department (ED) to deliver increased treatment spaces and overall hospital services and capacity.

The expansion will provide a larger ED with increased acute care and fast-track capacity, additional ambulance bays and more inpatient capacity to support current and future healthcare needs.

Construction on the project will progress while the existing ED continues to operate. The new building will be connected to existing hospital via a link, to integrate operations.

This project is part of a long-term redevelopment of the Royal Perth Hospital precinct, with master planning underway to guide future development.
