Caledonian Avenue level crossing in Maylands was recognised as one of four crossings to remove as part of METRONET.

After lengthy investigations, the State Government determined the best option was to close the level crossing.

The level crossing permanently closed on 15 April 2022, with planning underway to deliver local road enhancements.
