Project

Albany Health Campus Expansion

Albany

Overview

The Albany Health Campus Expansion project will add a new 32‑bed medical ward to the existing hospital, increasing capacity and strengthening care across the region.

The new ward will help relieve pressure on hospital services by enhancing patient flow and improving timely access to care.

The ward will support patients with lower complexity medical needs, allowing higher acuity beds to be reserved for those requiring more intensive treatment. This will reduce demand on the emergency department and enable elective surgeries to proceed more efficiently.

By prioritising capacity for patients with less severe conditions, the expansion will make better use of existing facilities and improve the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery across the Great Southern Region.
