Two projects are currently underway on Toodyay Road to improve travel between Perth, Toodyay and surrounding suburbs.

This includes road widening and installation of safety barriers from Aspen Road to Dryandra Road (metropolitan area).

Construction from Dryandra Road to Goomalling Toodyay Road includes passing lanes and heavy vehicle climbing lanes, shoulder widening / sealing and installation of audible edge lining, plus intersection improvements along the route.

Construction of the first overtaking lane on Toodyay Road in the Wheatbelt region commenced in November 2020, with completion anticipated late-2021.
