An average of 17,000 vehicles a day use Thomas Road between Kwinana Freeway and South Western Highway.

A number of upgrades will be made to the busy road to to improve traffic flow for the growing community, reduce congestion and minimise the risk of accidents occurring.

The project will involve a dual carriageway between Kwinana Freeway and Bombay Boulevard in Casuarina; a new roundabout at Bombay Boulevard; dual-lane roundabouts at Thomas Road's intersections with Nicholson Road and Kargotich Road in Oakford; and other safety measures including additional lighting, shoulder widening and new line markings.
