Detour options

  • Temporary roundabout at the intersection High Street and Stirling Highway

As part of the High Street Upgrade, a temporary roundabout now replaces the signalised High Street and Stirling Highway intersection to enable the safe and efficient construction of the permanent roundabout.

    The temporary roundabout will:

    • enable fewer disruptive traffic switches for the remainder of the project, minimising driver confusion and improving safety; and
    • provide construction access to larger sections of the intersection, to help build the permanent roundabout more efficiently.

As more of the permanent roundabout is constructed, traffic will be moved to the new sections in stages, until the permanent roundabout is commissioned in mid-2021.

Comprehensive pedestrian and cyclist detours will also be required to construct and implement the temporary roundabout and build the new permanent roundabout.

As the road layout may be unfamiliar, please drive with care and follow the signage provided.
