Following extensive consultation with the local community, this transformative project will deliver a vibrant waterfront destination for residents and visitors.

The project includes a four-lane boat ramp, a separate access channel to exit into deeper water, plus long-term capacity of up to 80 boat pens, trailer parking with the capacity for up to 200 bays and integrated foreshore development.

This project is being delivered in cooperation with the Pilbara Ports Authority, Pilbara Development Commission and the Town of Port Hedland.

  • A new recreational marina and foreshore development that will transform Port Hedland’s West End into a cultural and social hub
  • Much needed public amenities and facilities that aim to improve the lifestyle of residents and increase visitation to the town’s waterfront
  • Double the number of boat ramps and safer access to deep water for boat users
  • New vehicle and trailer parking, toilet and change room facilities, jetty platform, public open space and areas for retail pop-up outlets
  • Formalisation of the main entry road providing improved public access
