Three single-lane bridges along the Great Northern Highway between Halls Creek and Kununurra - spanning Arthur Creek, Frog Hollow Creek, and Tickalara Creek - are being replaced with new dual-lane bridges.

Construction of the Tickalara and Frog Hollow dual-lane bridge works was completed in June 2024. Bridge construction works at Arthur Creek are expected to commence in early-2025 with anticipated completion by late-2025.

The new wider bridges are expected to improve safety and provide more efficient journeys through improved traffic flow. The new bridges are designed to withstand a 100-year flood event, reducing the impact of flooding.
