The Balgo Hill (Wirrimanu) Airport runway upgrade project involves runway re-sheeting, new perimeter fencing and an upgrade of the airport lighting system to improve accessibility and safety.

This project is part of the State Government's Aboriginal Community Airstrips Renewal Program (ACARP), which aims to ensure airstrips at remote Aboriginal communities are maintained and can safely support flights connecting people to critical services including essential health care.

This project will be delivered by the Department of Transport in partnership with the Wirrimanu Aboriginal Corporation.
