Currently, the project is focused on sealing shoulders between Kellerberrin and Walgoolan plus widening works and the construction of an overtaking lane between Carrabin and Bodallin.
Construction of a new bridge away from the road in Walgoolan will start in early 2021 with the bridge at Moorine Rock widened at the same time.
Bridges in Coates Gully between Chedaring Road and Coates Road will also be replaced, with works expected to start in early 2021 and due for completion in mid-2021.
In March 2021, intersection improvements are planned at Malabaine Road and Hoggarth Road and are scheduled to be completed by mid-2021.
Great Eastern Highway is an important transport link to the eastern states, and work is planned to improve safety. Up to 1,800 vehicles use the highway each day in the Wheatbelt, with 40 per cent of those heavy vehicles.

$223 million to unlock hundreds of local infrastructure jobs
The Morrison and McGowan Governments will support construction jobs across Western Australia by jointly investing an additional $223 million to deliver shovel-ready infrastructure projects and urgent road safety upgrades.
