Significant upgrades are underway on Reid Highway with two new interchanges at Altone Road and Drumpellier Drive/Daviot Road. 

The major improvements will enhance road safety and traffic flow for residents and tourists and will facilitate a more efficient and reliable movement of freight.

A new shared path network will be introduced to provide cyclist and pedestrian access to the Swan Valley, including the addition of a new PSP bridge and pedestrian and cyclist underpass.

Detour options

  • Altone Road Closure - 5 January - 31 January 2026

    Altone Road will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians between Reid Highway and Bennett Springs Drive from Monday 5 January to Saturday 31 January 2026 to support interchange construction.
