The upgrade of Nowergup Depot will increase maintenance capacity ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of Transperth services.
Located east of Ridgewood between Clarkson and Butler stations, the depot is used to stow and service railcars operating on the Mandurah and Joondalup lines.
The project included construction of a new maintenance building including 370m of wired rail track, 200m of unwired rail track to store track maintenance machines, and a new 800m train drivers footpath.
