Bayswater Station and surrounds will become a key METRONET precinct connecting to the Midland, Airport and Morley-Ellenbrook lines, giving people the choice of travelling to Perth Airport, the Swan Valley tourist region, Perth CBD and beyond.
Once complete, the new Bayswater Station will feature four platforms and two entrances, plus integrated retail outlets, gardens, art and public spaces.
A shutdown of the Midland and Airport lines from 31 March - 28 April 2023 enabled critical works to be carried out on the project, including the removal of the existing Bayswater Station and the infamous old Bayswater Bridge. About 1.8km of new track and other rail systems was also installed to realign trains to the new, higher bridge.
While the Midland and Airport lines have reopened, Bayswater Station will remain closed until September to allow works to safely continue on the 150m-long new elevated southern platform and station area.
A shuttle bus will operate between Bayswater and Meltham stations until Bayswater Station reopens. Visit the Transperth website for further information.
A free SmartRider travel pass is available to eligible Bayswater passengers. This pass provides eligible passengers with free travel and parking on the Transperth network for three months, until 30 June 2023. Details regarding eligibility and the application process are available on the Transperth website.
