The WA Government is making a significant investment to expand public transport options along the Swan River, helping to shape a more accessible and vibrant Perth.
As part of this expansion, a new ferry route will connect the existing Elizabeth Quay terminal with two new terminals at Matilda Bay and Applecross. Additional upriver routes and terminal locations are currently being explored.
Five new electric ferries are being designed and built in Western Australia. Each ferry will include onboard toilets, bicycle storage and comfortable seating.
This project will be jointly delivered by the Public Transport Authority and the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure.
