This project plans to extend Lloyd Street to link Midland with the industrial areas of Hazelmere and the Great Eastern Highway Bypass.

The design features a 180m bridge over Helena River and a new four way intersection connecting Lloyd Street to Great Eastern Highway Bypass and Abernethy Road. The bridge will have two lanes in each direction and shared paths for pedestrians and cyclists.

Construction is anticipated to commence in late 2026. This follows four years of consultation, collaboration and design investigation to ensure the Lloyd Street Bridge crossing avoids impact to cultural significant sites, including the Helena River and a seasonal pool located on the bridge’s alignment.
