Residents in Lakelands, Madora Bay and surrounds will have a new travel option to choose from with the newest Mandurah Line station being built in Lakelands.

The new station will include platforms and rail infrastructure over the existing Mandurah line, park and ride, kiss and ride and disability parking bays, a bus interchange and lockable cycling storage.

Construction has started and, once the project is completed, it will ease the growing demand for public transport in the southern suburbs through better access to rail services.

A business case for the development of Karnup Station, in addition to Lakelands Station, has been completed to inform and support ongoing funding requests.

Benefits

  • Alternative transport options for the local community
  • Easing pressure on existing Mandurah Line stations
