The Kalumburu Airport project involves resealing aerodrome pavements and installing solar-powered lighting.
The works will support the safe and regular operation of public, charter and emergency air services which keep the Kalumburu community connected during both the wet and dry seasons.
This project is part of the State Government's Aboriginal Community Airstrips Renewal Program (ACARP), which aims to ensure airstrips at remote Aboriginal communities are maintained and can safely support flights connecting people to critical services including essential health care.
