The shared path along the Armadale rail line will be extended on the western side of Rutland Avenue from Great Eastern Highway to Miller Street, providing greater connections and convenience to people walking, wheeling and riding.

Stage 1 of the project included construction of a 550-metre-long shared path from Miller Street to Bishopsgate Street near Victoria Park train station. This section was completed in October 2023.

Stage 2, which will continue the path from Bishopsgate Street to Great Eastern Highway, is in the final stages of design.

This project is being delivered in partnership with the Town of Victoria Park.

  • Connection to other sections of path along the primary route, providing a continuous link from Victoria Park and beyond to the City
  • Improved connectivity from Great Eastern Highway to Miller Street
  • Provision of a safe route for bike riders and pedestrians in the area
  • New lighting, wayfinding signs, pavement markings and landscaping
