The Eucla Airstrip upgrade will involve sealing the current airstrip to reduce closures due to wet weather and improving year-round access to the Eucla region, including for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and Police Air Wing.
Construction on this project will begin in late-2025 with completion expected in early-2026.
This project is part of the Regional Airport Pavement Upgrades (RAPU), a State Government commitment to upgrade aircraft pavements at the regional airports of Albany, Carnarvon, East Kimberley (Kununurra), Eucla and Onslow.
This project is being administered by the Department of Transport in partnership with the Shire of Dundas.
