Used by over 5,000 vehicles per day, Congdon Street Bridge is a critical link for residents, businesses, schools and commuters in the Swanbourne community.

The modern structure will replace the 114-year-old timber bridge, ensuring current safety, access and design standards, including clearance requirements for the rail line.

Western Power service relocation works are expected to start in mid-2024, in preparation for bridge construction to commence in 2025.

The new bridge and proposed shared paths will improve connectivity, increase safety and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.

Benefits

  • Enhance accessibility and connectivity
  • Improve access at Swanbourne Station
  • Utilise the existing bridge remnants
