The Congdon Street Bridge Replacement project will upgrade the 114-year-old ageing timber bridge over the Fremantle Line at Swanbourne Station.

Congdon Street Bridge is a critical link for residents, businesses, schools and commuters. Design plans also include wider traffic lanes and shared paths on both sides of the bridge. Once complete, the upgrade will enhance accessibility and connectivity to and around the area.

Construction is anticipated to begin in mid 2027 to avoid conflict with the closure of the Fremantle Traffic Bridge as part of the Swan River Crossings project. In the meantime, design is progressing and service relocation works continue to prepare the site.
