A new pedestrian and cyclist bridge will be constructed downstream of the heritage-listed Causeway Bridge, providing improved access across the Swan River.
The new bridge will be six-metres wide and will provide a safer connection for people walking and riding from the Perth CBD to Victoria Park and beyond.
Project development and planning is under way, with tenders planned for release in mid-2021 subject to statutory approvals.
Currently more than 1,400 cyclists and 1,900 pedestrians use the two-metre wide Causeway path each day.
