Bassendean

Overview

The Bassendean Station cycling upgrade involved the construction of 550 metres of bicycle lane on the approach to Bassendean Station, as well as the upgrade of nearby footpaths and pedestrian crossings.

This project forms part of the PTA’s Connecting Stations program, which seeks to improve cycling and pedestrian access to Transperth stations, in partnership with local government.

Benefits

  • Potential to reduce traffic congestion around Bassendean Station
  • Riding or walking to the station will become a more attractive option for passengers
  • Improved connectivity with existing bicycle and pedestrian paths
