The Australian Hockey Centre (AHC) will bolster Perth as the premier destination for hockey in Australia. Building on Western Australia’s proud hockey legacy, the AHC will elevate the state’s role in developing world-class athletes and hosting international competitions.
The new centre will feature four hockey pitches, including two certified to International Hockey Federation (FIH) Category 1 standard and a 1,000-seat covered stadium expandable to 10,000 for major events. It will house high-performance facilities for Hockey Australia, including athlete recovery, wellbeing and training spaces, alongside media and broadcast infrastructure to support global coverage.
The AHC will also serve the broader community, with dedicated change rooms, club storage, indoor hockey courts and social spaces such as a bar, kitchen and lounge. It will be home to both Hockey WA and Hockey Australia’s administrative offices, ensuring strong local and national collaboration.
This project is part of the WA Government’s PlayOn WA, an exciting initiative to deliver 2,030 community infrastructure items across WA by 2030.
