The new Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct at Burswood Park, adjacent to Optus Stadium, will bring sport, culture and community together in a dynamic, multi-purpose destination of state-wide importance.

Scope

It will elevate Western Australia’s standing as a premier place for sport and entertainment featuring new infrastructure and audience experiences, improving the local environment, and will support both community participation and major events through:

  • A new outdoor amphitheatre with 15,000-20,000 capacity, complementing Burswood Park, Optus Stadium and Crown Perth.
  • A multi-use track, including for use by FIA-approved Supercars, cycling criterium, and community sport.
  • A multi-use building, including event and function facilities and meeting spaces.
  • Better transport and connectivity with Optus Stadium and the wider precinct, particularly for people with a disability.
  • Enhancement of the local environment through landscape improvements (such as an urban forest) and renewal.

The precinct will be open for general community and visitor use for most of the year.

Precinct design will incorporate Burswood Park’s 20 Year Vision, respond to relevant state planning policies and uphold and improve the Park’s garden amenity. The precinct footprint does not extend to the Swan River.
