The Bunbury Outer Ring Road project is the biggest infrastructure project ever undertaken in the south-west and will provide new and improved access to Bunbury-Geographe and the wider south west region.

This project will see the construction of a 27 kilometre, four-lane road connecting Forrest Highway to Bussell Highway.

If you’re travelling the South West region throughout the holiday season, please be aware that traffic management, lane closures and speed reductions are in place on sections of Forrest Highway, Bussell Highway and South Western Highway. Completed in May 2013, the four-kilometre Central Section - Boyanup Picton Road to South Western Highway, included the extension of Port Access Road (Willinge Drive).

The Northern Section - Forrest Highway to Boyanup Picton Road, will provide better access for Bunbury CBD and Ferguson Valley, with preparation works now underway.

The Southern Section - South Western Highway to Bussell Highway, will include a ‘Y’ interchanges at Bussell Highway and Centenary Road, and a connection to Jules Road.

Detour options

Martin-Pelusey Road closure

To allow for the construction of new local roads as part of the Bunbury Outer Ring Road project, Martin-Pelusey Road will be closed between Harris Road and Golding Crescent until December 2024.

Detours are in place via Harris Road and Willinge Drive.
