Redbank Bridge links Port Hedland and South Hedland and is an important piece of road infrastructure in the region.
Maintenance works will be carried out on the bridge to extend its service life, which will include:
- installation of an impressed current cathodic protection system to slow the corrosive effect of the local saline conditions,
- recoating the substructure beams to reinstate the existing barrier,
- replacing and upgrading the existing handrail and guardrails on the topside of the bridge on Wilson Street; and
- repairing scours in the existing batters arising from cyclone damage over recent years.
